Scholarship

Phi Mu helps our collegiate women strive for academic excellence while enjoying the other aspects of sorority life. We’re extremely proud of our academic achievements and look forward to maintaining a notable level of academic excellence.

Our goal as a chapter is to support each other so that each sister receives the help she needs to reach her personal academic goals. We have chapter-wide goals for academics and hold our sisters to a high academic standard. We encourage our members to form study groups and offer free tutoring through our new Sisters Helping Sisters program. At our chapter meetings, there are prizes given out to members who receive A’s on exams or papers, and for members who attend all of their classes. We also have developed our mentor program to help current members who are struggling academically or for any girl who wants another person to talk to. The mentors act as an adviser and help with homework and questions, assist in picking out classes for the following semester, make members aware of scholarships available to them and introduce them to new study tips, habits and resources available to them on campus

Our annual Founder’s Day banquet is a time when Chi Chapter recognizes the high scholastic achievements of our members. At this annual event, we recognize members whose previous semester GPA was above a 3.6. Members with GPA’s between 3.6-3.79 receive a gift card for their achievement and women with a GPA of 3.8 and above receive a t-shirt designed by the academic chair and favors chair. Also, women who received a 4.0 GPA the previous semester are awarded with the Ada Henry Scholarship Charm. At this banquet, Chi Chapter also awards two $500 textbook scholarships to deserving members who works exceptionally hard and contributes financially to her family in order to help pay for her schooling.
